Shamanic Healing Traditions of the Peruvian Amazon

My journey to the jungles of the Amazon River in Peru, and study with Don Agustin Rivas Vasquez, master shaman, gave me spiritual and visionary encounters with the earliest traditions of genuine healers, or curranderos.  This is where the essence of the nature and spirit of man are joined to create a mysterious and powerful energy of transformation from darkness to light, from disease to health and from confusion to mental clarity.

Living in the jungles, observing and participating in shamanic healing rituals, and working with plants, created in me a deep understanding of the healing process, as well as the relationship between healer and being healed.

My friend Jaya Bear, with whom I traveled to the Amazon jungles, wrote a book about Don Agustin, his life and the training he underwent to become the shaman and healer he is today: "AMAZON MAGIC" by Jaya Bear, Colibri Publishing Taos, New Mexico.
