Maria Gorens, L.Ac., is a New York State and Nationally Board Certified Acupuncturist. She holds a Master's Degree in Oriental Medicine from the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in NYC and a three-year degree from the BTB Professional School of Feng Shui. She also has extensive knowledge of the art and science of Chinese medical diagnostic techniques, which includes a thorough understanding of face, ear and body reading.
Personal Approach and Great Results
Maria feels that true healing starts with an individual approach to every patient. She blends Japanese and Chinese acupuncture needle techniques to promote the body's natural ability to heal itself. Every treatment is a unique combination of acupuncture, Japanese Onnetsu therapy, aromatherapy and abdominal and reflexology massage.
Travel To Explore Different Medical Traditions
Maria traveled to the Amazon jungle in Peru to study shamanic healing traditions. She also traveled to the Sinai mountain desert to observe the traditions of Bedouin tribes. On her journey to China she learned the importance of Chinese dietary therapy to enhance the healing process. After a trip to Russia she incorporated many folk remedies into her practice. Maria also spent three weeks in Japan studying Onnetsu therapy, which uses far infra-red light and shinkiko energy healing techniques. She has since incorporated it into her practice with great results.
