Moxibustion
Fire Needles

What is Moxa?

Moxibustion is used to stimulate acupuncture points by combustion of the herbal substance wormwood. Wormwood is obtained from the plant Artemisia Vulgaris that grows wild and abundant on mountains and in fields. The lower surface of the leaf has a layer of white hair, or fur, which when dried, becomes the spongy, tissue-like material called Moxa. The Chinese word for moxa is jiu, which means burning.

What are "Fire Needles"?

Moxibustion greatly increases the potential for effective treatment when used on acupuncture points in combination with needles, known as fire needles . Its healing heat radiates directly through the skin to influence the meridian underneath. In doing so, it increases the circulation of blood and chi in the 14 meridians, removes cold sensation from the body, enhances fertility, and relieves different kinds of pain.
